It is strange to think that he is actually gone now.

The second ever gig that I went to (I think it was in 1976) was to see the Jackson 5 at De Montford Hall in Leicester. I think that I became a fan that night and I still am.

Ok, the view we have of his life is a sad one and seeing what he physically did to himself was quite disturbing, but in terms of music, dance and videos the man was flawless - he was a unique talent who produced an incredible catalogue of music.

I have no idea about how much he enjoyed life or what happened away from the cameras, but he provided a legacy that few can match and I will always be grateful for that.

Shame that he's gone
